Parc Guell is a vibrant and fascinating public park system in central Barcelona, designed by legendary architect Gaudi in the eve of the 19th century. It comprises of multiple distinctive architectural elements and several garden areas.

The park was initially intended to be a 60

plot housing development, built atop a barren hill to make the most of the only thing the land had to offer; it's views. After a rocky beginning and an unsuccessful show home, the site was repurposed into a park later on.

To the right you see a viaduct, showcasing what draws me to this work of architecture. Despite looking very appealing and serving as a famous feature of the park, the viaduct had no reason for its design apart from being an interesting shape to break up the landscape around it.
